CÔTÉ SUD is more than just a restaurant. It is an ambitious gastronomic, leisure and culture project at the Gates of the Desert. We chose Ouarzazate for its privileged location, which combines the natural beauty of its' desert surroundings, the spectacular Kasbah of Tifoultoute and the proximity of the film studios. The core of the project is a restaurant with a broad and varied gourmet food offer.
We provide the freshest ingredients, purchased directly at source, which are then preserved and elaborated by an outstanding team, with the full hygienic guarantees.
CÔTÉ SUD project has been conceived and realized by Barcelona architects Jordi Ros, director of the School of Architecture of Barcelona (ETSAB) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and Jordi Sutrias, professor ETSAB.
CÔTÉ SUD: Located on a small hill above the Tifoultoute River. In a plot of 20,000 m², we have created an oasis with a garden filled wide variety of trees surrounding a small lake. At the centre, surrounded by a four meter high adobe wall, built accordance with traditional construction methods, is the complex of 5000 m² that, besides the restaurant, also has an art gallery, a stage for live music, a movie theatre (interestingly the only one, in a place known as the Morocco's little Hollywood) and a cookery school. This last element is our contribution to the culinary training of the regions' youth and the continuity of our gastronomic offer, which is of the highest quality and standards. Our gourmet space distributes, to other restaurants in the region, products that we have carefully selected.
